The steel structure intercooling towers for the 4×1000 MW coal-fired units of Inner Mongolia Guodian Power Shanghai Miao Power Generation Company have been completed
At 10:58 on August 26, with the precise placement of the last steel triangle on the 18th floor of the #4 steel structure intercooler, the main structure of the world's first 4-million-unit steel structure intercooler was successfully completed.

Wang Jianping, General Manager of Shuangliang Energy Saving System Co., Ltd., Jin Yadong, Project Director, and Zhang Chunzhan, Project Manager of our company, also attended the topping-out ceremony for the #4 steel structure intercooler.
The steel intercooler tower project for the 4×1000MW coal-fired units at the Shanghai Temple Power Plant in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, consists of four all-steel cooling towers, each weighing more than 6,500 tons. The main structure is composed of four parts: "cone + widening platform + cylinder + reinforcement ring." The tower's structure features a spatial grid system formed by 736 lattice steel triangles. The total height of the tower is 190.2 meters, with a base diameter of 148.7 meters. This is the second batch of steel intercooler tower projects undertaken by our company, and it also represents the tallest and largest steel intercooler tower project in the global indirect air cooling business field.
During the hoisting construction of the main structure of the #4 steel tower, the company summarized the construction management experience gained from the completed steel structure intercooling towers No. 1, 2, and 3. It strictly controlled the key processes at each stage of the steel structure intercooling tower construction, continuously innovated, and enhanced its refined management capabilities. In terms of safety management, the project management team overcame challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and severe weather, carefully formulated a risk prevention mechanism, and ensured the smooth progress of safe and civilized construction on site.
During the construction of the steel tower, the company placed great emphasis on technological innovation and achievement transformation. It consistently addressed challenges in the construction of large steel structure intercooling towers, resulting in notable technological advancements. Among these, the "Steel Structure Intercooling Tower Cone Section Ring Beam Butt Weld Cage" and the "Steel Structure Intercooling Tower Unfolding Platform Convex Ridge Installation Bracket (Utility Model and Invention Patent)" were awarded patents by the National Intellectual Property Administration in 2021. Additionally, the project titled "Improving the Installation Size Accuracy of the Cone Section Steel Triangle of the Steel Structure Intercooling Tower" won the 2021 China Construction Industry Association QC Class II Achievement Award.
On August 30, the Supervision Department of the State Power Shanghai Temple Project of Shandong Chengxin Engineering Construction Supervision Co., Ltd. sent a letter of appreciation to the State Power Shanghai Temple Power Plant Project Department of the company. The letter highly praised the successful completion of the #3 and #4 steel structure intercooler towers by the project department.
The successful completion of this project fully demonstrates the company's advantages in power construction technology, its comprehensive guidance throughout the engineering management process, and its focus on experience accumulation and innovative management. The high-standard completion of this project has contributed to maintaining the company's stable market share in power engineering and further enhanced its brand competitiveness in the power market.
